This cover is effective 1 December 2020 and is available to all existing and new SmartTraveller customers
travelling under permitted arrangements.
The plan will provide the following benefits for situations arising from COVID-19:

Here are examples of situations where the traveller will be covered:
• Tested positive for COVID-19 and requires hospitalisation during the trip;
• Had to cancel the trip after failing the temperature screening at the departure gate at the airport and later certified to be infected with COVID-19;
• Forced to be quarantined due to COVID-19 infection whilst overseas;
• Forced to cancel trip as the sole travelling companion tested positive for COVID-19;
• Had to rearrange itinerary, whilst overseas, as there were no flights due to COVID-19.
Here are examples of situations where the traveller will not be covered:
• Had to cancel the trip in compliance with Singapore government advisory against travel to the specific destination;
• If the general entry requirement for all inbound visitors is to self-isolate / quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in the country, quarantine allowance is not covered;
• Cost of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) or ‘swab’ test or other post-arrival tests if the result is negative;
• Cruise holidays;
• One-way trips.
